Why It's Great for Every Founder to Have Fierce AI Competition

When I started my company back in 2007, we had to use the operating system Windows. No other real B2B choice. Our website had to be optimized for Google. We had no real option but to use what was dominated by a few.

Now it’s much better.

We live in a time of fierce competition between AI providers. The new Kimi K3 just came out. We have various AI companies competing with each other and rushing to release better models every day. Google is not even in the top 10 anymore.

As a founder who is building, this is great news. Especially when your goal is to build a great product.

We have a handful of terminal systems now, like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode. Several UI-based desktop apps and browsers: Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Atlas, and Perplexity Comet. Agentic open-source AI assistants have changed how I use my computer now: OpenClaw, Hermes, and paperclip. Over 12 internal AI labs releasing new models every few weeks.

We can combine our favorite model with our favorite agent and interface.

Isn’t 2026 the founder’s dream?
