I stopped typing. Dictation finally works in 2026.

Dictation was tried many times in the past, but before AIs were invented it was always buggy and slow. In 2026 it works very well.

Why you should switch now:

• corrects my typos automatically

• removes pauses and sums up my thinking

• formatting style stays consistent

For the mac I use openwhispr. The app tries to force you into a login and a subscription, but if you choose no login you can skip the login and you can also just use the local model that it will download for you.

Wispr flow is the hyped app right now for ios. Until there are good open source and local alternatives this is the best for now.
