I Paid $350 for a Writing Course and Went Viral on the Last Day

30 days ago, I started an online writing course from Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole.

I had my first viral success on the last day of the course. They couldn’t have timed their promise better. My last post on LinkedIn was a hit. It went viral and is still growing like crazy right now.

As it turns out, writing in 2026 is trickier than promised.

Some of the content was last updated in 2023. Because AI slop is everywhere now, their advice about writing titles and formatting got my post flagged immediately. It feels too perfect, and that is not what readers want now.

The advice is timeless but some chapters need an update to match the high price.

I also loved their daily podcast-style videos. They fed me motivational advice in small pieces.

That price tag made me feel the pressure to come back and finish it. Paying money is a good way to stick to something.

As I learned, building a habit takes daily repetition over a longer period of time. Weeks help to reinforce the learning in our brains.

As it turns out, X and LinkedIn algorithms look for these habits too, and it takes time before they start to experiment with your content.

Learning and practicing daily helped me to stick to the plan and play the viral content lottery.
